Google Shopping Campaign Has No Products? How to Fix It

Shown in Google Ads: No products (Shopping campaign has no eligible products)

How do I fix a Shopping campaign with no products in Google Ads?

If your Shopping campaign shows no products, or products show but never get impressions, Google Ads can't find approved, eligible items that match your campaign's settings. Check four things in order: the Merchant Center link, the campaign's feed label and country, any inventory filters or listing group exclusions, and product approval status in Merchant Center.

    What this means

Shopping and Performance Max campaigns don't use keywords; they pull products from the linked Google Merchant Center account. A product only appears in your campaign if:

    • it's in a Merchant Center account linked to this Google Ads account,
    • it matches the campaign's feed and country (or feed label) settings,
    • it isn't excluded by an inventory filter or listing group, and
    • it's approved for the right destination (Shopping ads) in the targeted country.

When any of these fail, the Products tab or listing groups show zero products, or products show as "Not eligible" or with no impressions. The campaign may say it's eligible, but there's nothing for it to serve.

    Why it happens

    • Merchant Center not linked, or the link request was never accepted in Merchant Center.
    • Wrong Merchant Center account. The Shopify Google & YouTube app connected a different (sometimes newly created) Merchant Center account than the one linked to Google Ads.
    • Feed label or country mismatch. The campaign is set to a country or feed label that doesn't match how your products were submitted. For example, products submitted with feed label US while the campaign selects a different label.
    • Inventory filter. The campaign's inventory filter (in Shopping settings) restricts products to a brand, custom label or category value that no longer exists.
    • Listing group exclusions. In Shopping ad groups or PMax asset groups, product groups subdivided and excluded, including "Everything else".
    • Products disapproved or pending. Merchant Center issues such as price mismatch, missing GTIN, policy violations, or a site-level account warning.
    • Products not opted into Shopping ads. In Merchant Center, the product's marketing methods or destinations exclude Shopping ads, or exclude the target country.
    • Feed not processed yet. A new store or new feed can take time to be reviewed.
    • Out of stock. Products marked out of stock don't serve.

    How to fix it

    1. Confirm the link. In Google Ads, open the linked accounts section (Data manager or Linked accounts) and check Google Merchant Center shows as linked with the right account ID. In Merchant Center, confirm the Google Ads link is active.
    2. Check which Merchant Center your store uses.
      • Shopify: In the Google & YouTube app, check the connected Merchant Center ID. It must be the same account linked to Google Ads.
      • WooCommerce: Check your feed plugin or the Google Listings & Ads extension to see which Merchant Center it submits to.
    3. Verify campaign product settings. In the campaign settings, confirm the Merchant Center account and the feed label (or country) selected. It must match the feed label and target country your products were actually submitted with, and the campaign's location targeting should include that country.
    4. Remove or update the inventory filter. If the campaign uses a filter (for example custom_label_0 = bestsellers), confirm products still have that value in the feed. Feed apps sometimes reset custom labels.
    5. Check listing groups. In each ad group (Shopping) or asset group (PMax), review the listing group tree. Make sure products aren't excluded and that "Everything else" isn't excluded by mistake.
    6. Fix product issues in Merchant Center. Go to the products list and filter by status (Not approved, Limited, Pending). Resolve the top issues, which commonly include price or availability mismatches between feed and website, missing identifiers, and image problems. Then wait for re-crawl or request a review.
    7. Check account-level issues. A Merchant Center account with a misrepresentation suspension or unverified website stops all products. These must be fixed before any campaign can serve.
    8. Confirm destinations. Make sure products are included in Shopping ads (not only free listings) for the target country.
    9. Wait for processing, then refresh. New feeds and fixes can take some time to process before products appear.

    How long until it's resolved

Fixing campaign settings, filters or listing groups updates products in the campaign almost immediately. Fixing product data in Merchant Center depends on review; many products are re-reviewed within a few days, sometimes faster. Account-level Merchant Center suspensions can take longer, since they require a review request.

    How to prevent it

    • Use one Merchant Center account per store and keep it linked to the same Google Ads account.
    • Don't let apps silently create new accounts. When reconnecting the Google & YouTube app, choose the existing Merchant Center.
    • Monitor feed diagnostics weekly for new disapprovals.
    • Keep prices and availability in sync between your store and feed, especially during sales.
    • Document custom label logic so filters keep matching products.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

"Eligible" refers to the campaign, not the products. If no approved products match its settings, or bids and budget are very low, it won't serve. Check the Products tab first.

Usually a different Merchant Center account is linked, the feed label or country doesn't match the campaign, or a filter excludes them.

After the feed is processed and products are approved, they typically appear in the campaign quickly. New Merchant Center accounts can take longer for initial review.

It depends on how your feed labels and target countries are set up in Merchant Center. Many stores still run separate campaigns per country so budgets, currencies and performance stay easy to manage.
