"Mismatched product price" means the price Google read on your product page doesn't match the price (or sale_price) in your Merchant Center product data, so Google disapproves the item. The fastest fix is to find which side is wrong, correct the feed or the page so both show the same amount and currency, then use Request website check so Google re-crawls instead of waiting for the next automatic pass.
Mismatched Product Price in Merchant Center: How to Fix It
How do I fix "Mismatched product price" in Merchant Center?
What this issue means
Googlebot regularly crawls the landing page in your link attribute and compares the price it finds there, in the visible HTML and in the page's structured data, with the price you submitted. If they differ, the product is disapproved for Shopping ads and free listings until they match again. In older accounts and many forum threads you'll see the same problem called Mismatched value (page crawl) [price].
Google is strict here because a shopper who clicks a $39 ad and lands on a $45 page has been misled. Repeated, large-scale price mismatches can escalate beyond item disapprovals, so treat this as urgent even if only a few SKUs are affected.
Why it happens
The causes Google lists, plus the ones we see most in real store audits:
- Feed lag. You changed prices on the site, but the feed won't update until its next scheduled fetch. A daily feed with intraday price changes will always produce mismatches.
- Wrong structured data. The theme's
Productschema outputs a different price than the visible page, for example the compare-at price, a cached price, or the lowest variant price. - Variant confusion. The feed links to the base product URL, but the page defaults to a different variant than the one in the feed. Each variant should have its own URL (Shopify's
?variant=parameter does this). - Sale date problems.
sale_price_effective_datehas the wrong start or end, or the wrong time zone, so the feed shows a sale that the site has ended (or not started). - JavaScript-rendered prices. Googlebot reads the HTML your server returns. Prices injected later by an app or script may not be what Google sees.
- Bot vs. shopper differences. Geolocation, currency switchers or A/B tests show Googlebot a different price or currency than a US shopper sees.
- Minimum order quantities. The page shows a price for a pack or minimum quantity, but the feed submits the single-unit price.
- Old notifications. The mismatch was detected earlier and has since been fixed, but the item hasn't been re-crawled yet.
How to fix it
- Open the affected products. In Merchant Center, go to Products, open the Needs attention tab and filter by this issue. Click a product to see the price Google found versus the price you submitted.
- Visit the landing page in a private window from the target country. Note the price, currency and the variant that's selected by default.
- Check structured data. Run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test and confirm
offers.priceandoffers.priceCurrencymatch the visible price for that exact variant. - Fix the side that's wrong.
- Shopify (Google & YouTube app): The app syncs prices from Shopify automatically. If the feed is stale, edit and save the product to force a resync. If schema is wrong, the theme's product JSON-LD is usually at fault; check it with your theme developer, and disable duplicate schema from SEO apps.
- WooCommerce: With Google for WooCommerce, confirm product sync is running and not erroring in the plugin's dashboard. If you use a feed plugin (CTX Feed, Product Feed PRO), regenerate the feed and confirm Merchant Center fetches it at least daily. Check that only one plugin (WooCommerce core, Yoast or Rank Math) outputs product schema.
- Custom or file feeds: Increase the scheduled fetch frequency, or push price changes through the Merchant API so updates happen in near real time.
- For a handful of products, you can edit the price directly on the product in Merchant Center. For many products, download the affected-items CSV from Needs attention, compare it with your site and reupload corrected data.
- Turn on automatic item updates for price (in Products > Automations in Merchant Center Next). This lets Google temporarily use the price it crawled while your feed catches up. It covers sporadic mismatches; it is not a substitute for a fresh feed.
- Request a website check from the product's issue panel once everything matches.
If your issue is specifically about sale prices, see our dedicated guide in the Merchant Center fixes library.
How long until it's fixed
Google says Googlebot re-crawls disapproved products over the next few hours or days. If you request a website check, Google may take up to 12 hours to review, and you can't submit another request during that window. In practice, most correctly fixed items are approved again within one to three days. If items flip back to disapproved, the root cause (usually feed lag or schema) is still there.
How to prevent it
- Match feed update frequency to how often you change prices. If you run flash sales, a once-a-day fetch isn't enough.
- Use API- or app-based sync instead of static file uploads where possible.
- Keep one source of truth for product schema and test a sample of URLs after every theme update.
- Schedule sales with correct
sale_price_effective_datevalues, including time zone offsets. - Avoid IP-based currency or price changes for crawlers.
- Run your feed through our free Merchant Center feed checker before big promotions.
